Our DuraMag® and Royal Truck Body® brands are built on a tradition you can trust — to get you to the site, take care of business, whatever it takes. And our Royal Truck XP Service Body is no exception. XP stands for Xtreme Protection. No job, no weather is too tough. It is purpose-built to serve your team, protect your equipment, and perform like new — far down the rockiest of roads. Body and accessories fit perfectly by design, free of corrosion-causing traps that collect water, salt, or chemicals. Protection to the extreme.
We had high expectations for our new XP Service Body, so we put it to the test. XP was third-party tested to live up to its promise on the punishing proving grounds of a leading commercial testing facility and performance-rated for 250,000 miles — fully loaded with our extensive complement of standard features and the Royal Ladder Rack and Internal Master Lock Security system.
High-endurance coating seals out the elements and fends off wear and tear with a commercial-grade finish that coordinates seamlessly with the chassis.
Outfitted with a generous package of standard features, the XP service body comes prepared—so you’re organized, secure, and up and running on day one.
Flip-top lid features two gas shocks and two rotary latches at lid ends to make equipment easy to access and lock up securely. With included removable divider trays, you can load with tools and supplies, grab the handles, and go.
In-bed tie-downs are built in, for you to cinch down and secure your compressor, ladder, and tools as you travel to the jobsite.
Concealed hinges on doors, compartments, and tailgate dramatically reduce exterior openings and exposure—so that everything closes flush, washes clean, deters break-in, and resists corrosion for years.
Fortress security system provides five locking points on every compartment—including three featured in our ergonomic stainless steel Royal® D-handle™—providing security for your investments.
Locking tailgate is double paneled, self-leveling, and the toughest on the market. Two heavy-duty machined hinges provide maximum strength and easy, one-handed operation— without chains or side braces for obstruction-free loading and unloading and a streamlined flush closure.
Gas struts provide a smooth, premium feel when opening and closing all vertical doors and compartments. All are tested to perform in extreme temperatures.
PPG’s High-Edge primer technology developed for heavy equipment working in severe conditions. Allows coating to be retained or have buildup on vulnerable edges, corners, and pockets. The epoxy is different than many of the other primers being used in our marketplace. When applied to the substrate, the high edge epoxy bonds together to cover some of the most challenging points of a service body to paint; the sharp corners of compartment doors, hard to reach interior bends and folds, and 90-degree angles maintaining a consistent coating thickness. Typically, these body locations don't get ample coverage to protect the steel. These areas are the first spots to reveal rust because of the thin paint applied. High edge epoxy wraps around the 90-degree corners, providing consistent primer thickness and can be seen and felt by hand. High-Edge epoxy is the foundation for the ultimate protection on the XP body and leads the way for the final paint step.
PPG Top Coat Powder Finish The final step in the paint process is a powder coat top finish formulated to achieve a wet paint like appearance with an exceptional high degree of gloss. PPG worked with us to reformulate a proprietary recipe to allow the powder to flow during heat and cure for better smoothness than conventional powder coat. The result was a wet paint like finish with a classical, durable, powder coat product. The XP body Armor Gloss process delivers a look and feel of the body that closely matches that of the OEM chassis its mounted on. We have 90% of the great looks of wet paint and 100% of the durability of powder coat.
